Kory stated his new job this week. He is working as a field mechanic at Envirotech. He is really excited to learn new things and the company is a family based company with a really good work environment. I am really happy for him. However I am a little stressed out because It's a big pay cut for us. Luckily for us we both have parents who are willing to help us out.

The other day I was on the phone trying to get a forbearance on some of our bills until Kory can get a raise.

I was really stressed about it and after I got off the phone with the mortgage people, who were especially ridiculous I was sitting on my bedroom floor crying. Lila was in the room with me, she came over looked at me and then walked out of the room. At first I thought "wow, how not sweet of her to just leave me with out a hug or anything." Then I heard her talking to Penny in the living room. I didn't hear what Lila said I only heard Penny say "what's wrong with her?" Then I heard the sweetest noise ever. The sound of 2 sets of little feet coming back to my bedroom. Hand in hand Lila and Penny came into my room. Penny crawled on my lap and said "Mom, Why are you crying?" I said " I'm just sad and I'm afraid that we don't have enough money." Then with the sweetest voice ever Penny said " Mommy, that's silly, Grandma has a jar full of money and I know that she will share it with us." (talking about Sharon's spare change jar) The Lila came over and gave me her blanket and said "it's fine Mom." which of course restarted the tears but for different reasons because at that moment I knew it doesn't matter if i have a nice car, a fancy house or designer clothes. It doesn't matter if i can't buy my kids lots of toys and new clothes every time they ask. What is important is that I am here with them and them with me and that we love each other. My kids are wonderful Penny would leave her favorite cartoon to come comfort me and Lila would give me her blanket which for Lila is the equivalent to giving her left arm. I am so grateful for my kids, and my husband, they are amazing.

Two days later I was in town and Sharon was watching the girls. when I got home Penny said she had a surprise for me. She had me close my eyes and go into my bedroom where I found that she had asked Sharon for some coins and had left them on my bed for me. She said "Look Mom now we won't run out of money." It almost made me start crying all over again. It's not to say I'm not still stressed about the money but I know that my kids are caring and loving children and that's what is most important.

Trials and Blessings

Well we have had an intersting month. On Nov.5 Kory lost his job. He has worked at Wagner Equipment

For 5 1/2 years and out of now where he was fired. It has been really hard for him especially since it was so unexpected. We have been looking for jobs for a whole month now, no luck yet. But we have been blessed that Kory's dad has work right now and Kory is working for him. It has been nice. I get to see Kory much more and when he's home he isn't still working. We are hoping that he will find another job soon, but we have been really blessed. We withdrew his retirement money and paid off all but a couple hundred dollars in credit card debt. Which will defiantly help us start the new year off on a good foot.

This has given us such a great chance to grow. It's been a good thing even though most people wouldn't

view it that way. It has been a great blessing. We have more family time and our family time is more quality. Kory is far less stressed. The other thing is that I don't think I ever would have been ok with Kory quitting but I do feel now like this was the best move for our family. Hopefully I can just keep my faith and patience long enough to weather this storm.

Funny Little Girls

My girls have been so funny lately. Addy is crawling, she is the happiest baby

I know. She thinks that getting her diaper changed is the funniest thing ever.

She also loves the song "Popcorn Popping". She laughs every time

we sing it.

Lila is talking non stop. She says "Guess What?.... Chicken Butt." she tells me

"NO!" no matter what I ask her, unless I ask "do you need a spanken?"

and to that she always answers "Yes". Lila loves to sing any primary song she knows.

Mostly she likes 'Book of Mormon Stories', 'Popcorn', 'Jesus said love everyone' and 'Repentance'.

Lila also demands that I turn up the radio anytime a song she likes comes on

and demanding I turn it down or off when she doesn't like the song.

Lila started saying "I need a snuggle." "I need a kiss" and "Do you want a hug?"

She also 'fluffs' my hair often. She is so funny because she is also

known for hitting me multiple times everyday and pummeling Penny at least

once a week. What really amazes me is that Lila talks

almost as much and as well as Penny. She has over 1000 words in her

vocabulary. She amazes me everyday.

Penny has become quite the know it all. Every time we go somewhere

she is informing that I'm breaking traffic rules. She can spell stop and her

own name. She also likes to tell me that I'm going the wrong way

more often that I'd like. She too has her own taste in music but it's

almost the exact opposite of mine and Lilas. Penny has also been

correcting my grammar. The other day she said "hey we are gonna go though a

tunnel just like a train." I said "yeah but we're a car." to which

she replied " Mom, we are not a car, We are IN a car but we are girls."

Penny is also so involved in what everyone is doing and wants go visit

everyone. Penny thinks she needs to remind me of all my jobs

and chores. She tells me multiple times a day what I said I would do

and what I should be doing. The other thing about Penny is that she talks like a

little adult. She uses all the same phases that I do and insists that I listen to her just

like I would any other adult.

The girls do drive me a little crazy but they also make me

laugh so hard that I cry on the daily basis.

Halloween 2011

I finally figured out who she walk and who should be in the basket.

This year for Halloween we were a 'Zoo'.

Penny was a Kangaroo, Lila was a Elephant, Addy was

a Leopard, Kory was a lion and I was the zookeeper.

Then on Halloween night Lila went as the kangaroo and Penny

went as a fairy. The girls also carved pumpkins and had fun

trying on the Rapunzel wig.

Penny also got to sell pumpkins at TBR thanks to Grandma Peine.

Penny Turns 4!

Penny has now turned 4! She was so excited about this birthday. She thought the ward Halloween Party was a party for her. Also she got to sing a solo for the primary program on her birthday too. She did such a good job. She sang it really well and wasn't even nervous about it. Penny is my sweet, wild, happy, stubborn, loving, caring, smart, funny, amazing, little girl. I wouldn't have her any other way.

So I started teaching Zumba Fitness Classes at Fort Lewis Mesa

School on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So far I have yet to really

make any money but I do enjoy it. The girls are getting big

and they are very full of themselves.

Sometimes I Doubt

It's been a while since my last post about Jazz but I thought I should really share how my testimony

has grown because of what happened.

I need to back up about a month and say that my testimony had been really struggling. I was

feeling small and insignificant in the eyes of my Heavenly Father. I felt like He didn't really care.

I knew the church was true but I was doubting that he cared as much as I was always told.

Now, About 15 minutes after we found out that Jazz was missing Kory suggested that we say a prayer.

I rolled my eyes and said okay. But secretly I thought that Heavenly Father didn't really care about my missing dog. But I decided to try it. For the next 24 hours every prayer that was said in our house included a request for Jazz's return. The Second night she was missing I was getting ready to go out looking for her again. I was rally cranky about it. I said to Kory something to the effect of how easy it would be for Heavenly Father to send my dog home but that He must not care enough to send her home and then I went out looking for her. Now, I need to say that I am not the kind of person who expects things just to happen for me. I believe that Heavenly Father will help us as long as we do every thing we can to improve our situation and sometimes he will help us even if we don't. But I was out putting up lost signs, looking for her and calling all the neighbors that I could think of. When I came home that night I

was really upset and cried myself to sleep. The next morning I woke up early form a dream. In my dream I had walked out into my back yard and Jazz had been sitting right out side our fence. I tried to go back to sleep but I couldn't shake the feeling that I should go check the back yard. Finally I did. To my surprise there was Jazz laying less that 5 feet from where I had seen her in my dream. She had been hit by a car and was unable to walk. I found out later that day that her whole front right shoulder was shattered and her back leg had a large gash about 9 inches in length and all the way to the bone. I took her to the vet and it was going to cost $1600 and multiple surgeries and a painful recovery so we decided to have her put to sleep which was a very painful decision.

After taking to the vet I realized how much pain she must have endured to get home. I felt like trash.

I had been complaining while she had been suffering and Heavenly Father had been working on getting her home. I don't know how she and He did it but I know that Heavenly Father loves me.

The next day was the General Relief Society Broadcast. I was so grateful for the talks given, almost all

of them where about how much Heavenly Father loves us. I felt like it was just for me. Also, The next weekend at General Conference there were more talks given about the Love of our Heavenly Father.

Now, there is not doubt in my mind how much He loves me.

I know what some of you may be thinking..... "Really Heather a post for your dead dog..."

I know she was a dog and all day I've been saying to myself "You shouldn't be

so upset, she was just a dog." But she was not just a dog. Part of the

thing is that living where I live there is not a constant stream of companionship

at my house. Some days this is good, some days it is not so good.

But since Jazz came to our home she has always been there to keep

me company. She was perfectly content just to be near me. She loved my

daughters and they loved her. She was friendly and happy and she

was always so careful of the kids. She was only a year and half

old but I am better because I had her. You can think that I am

a crazy person and "she was JUST a dog" But more than that she was

my friend. So tonight I will cry. Tomorrow I will hug Ralph and be glad

that I still have him, I will still remember that he is a dog and not a person

but I will more fully acknowledge my need for him and that's okay.

I am thankful to know that Jazz is safe and no longer in pain and I'm grateful

for the happiness she brought to me and my family.

4 Days After Surgery You Finally Ate Some Yogurt.

Well for Lila's 2nd birthday she got to have her tonsils and adenoids taken out.

We had a little party on the 8th and at 6 am the next morning we showed up

for surgery. The actually surgery only lasted about 20 minutes and the doctor

said that her tonsils were some of the biggest he'd ever seen.

Since she was so young we had to stay at the hospital for the weekend.

When Lila woke up form Surgery she was not happy. She screamed for

about 30 minutes. I felt so bad for her having so many things hooked up to

her. She had the heart/respiratory monitor, an IV, and oxygen.

We got to go home Sunday afternoon, One day before Lila's 2nd birthday.

It was a very difficult couple of days because Lila was refusing to eat or drink

and I had to pin her down to give her her medicine. FINALLY she is back

to normal and eating, drinking and sleeping more regularly.

Also she hasn't had the runny nose, which had been her companion since birth,

since we got back form the hospital.

Busy Little Beavers

It has been a crazy couple of weeks. Daniel and Ashli welcomed new baby

Ryland to our family. We all went to his blessing and the same day

all the grand kids had a talent show. It was adorable. Then we went and

spent some family time at the La Plata County Fair. It so fun. The girls

enjoyed the rides and the animals and it was just fun to watch them get so excited.

Penny, Lila and Addy are all getting so big I can hardly believe it. Addy rolls all

over the place and feeds herself the bottle. Lila is talking up a storm

and has become quite assertive. She defiantly lets you know what she wants.

And Penny is at the "do it myself" stage. She wants to do everything by herself

and she tries to negotiate everything too. It's getting fun here at our house that's for sure.

Girls Camp!

This week I went to girls camp. I had such a

good time. I was the YCL leader and I loved it.

The YCL's were amazingly helpful and it was

nice to get away for a while and feel appreciated

and recognized for hard work.

I left Monday morning and got back Friday afternoon

and I was so tired. I got about 12 hours of sleep total

for the whole week. Needless to say I needed a nap.

So that night we set up a little tent in the living room

and watched 'Tangled' together. It's one of the few

movies we all like. I missed the girls so much this week.

All day I've been crying cause they got so much bigger

while I was gone. Lila is talking so much and Addy gained

like 4 lbs. I just love them so much and 5 days once a year

is more than enough time to be away.

This year I decided to let our hens hatch a few

of their own eggs. It was a real fun experience.

we would go over every couple of hours and check

the progress of the eggs. We had three baby chicks

hatch but unfortunately a few days lately they all died

for some unknown reason. Maybe next year we will

try it in an incubator....

Addy's Hospital Stay

My poor, sweet, little Addy had to go stay in the Hospital a couple

of weekends ago. I took her in cause she had stopped eating

and she ended up have to stay 3 nights! She was dehydrated

and her oxygen level was low. It sure was a long weekend but I

sure am glad that she got better. Of Course a couple of days after

we got home she got really bad colic and for 3 weeks she cried

all day. Last week I weaned her and now she is a happy baby

who laughs and smiles most of the day.

Girls Day Out....

For Mother's Day this year Kory gave me $60 that he had saved and told me

that I caould have a whole day out by myself. I was going to go all by myself

but decided that i would take Penny on a date. We went and ate at Subway,

went roller skating and then went and got our nails done. It was a lot of fun.

But I did feel bad leaving Lila home. Next year maybe me and her can go out.

What was really funny was that Penny insisted on wearing Kory's hat the whole

time we were out.

This post is really late coming but our donkey, Lucy,

had a baby about a month ago. She's not at our house

right now but we went to go see the baby, Ally, and visit

her at her old house, Asstec Acres. The girls had so much

fun running around and playing with all the animals there.

Kevin's Wedding!

The wedding was great. But the trip was less than fun.

Lila got sick the night before the wedding and threw up

in the hotel. And they were all just super cranky the whole

time but It was such a nice experience to be there with Kevin

and Peyi. We are so happy for them.

Since the last time I posted we have been very busy.

We had Addy Blessed and we went to St. George for Kevin

and Peyi's wedding. Our donkey 'Lucy' had her baby.

Penny got her hair cut, I think it looks cute.

Right now all the girls have variations of a cold.

I'm pretty sure that Lila has croup again. I'm

just really hoping that Addy doesn't get it.

I will post the pictures of Kevin's wedding soon.

Prayers- You can't have it all

In the past few months I have recommited myself to

nightly prayers and amazingly I have been able to keep it

up for a while now. Last night in my prayers I said 2 phases

that I say every night. "bless the girls to sleep well"

and "bless our family to be safe".
Sometimes in order for one request to be granted

another must be denied.
At about 4am this morning Penny came into our room
which means I must have forgot to close her door.

I was irrate that she was up and thought "I know

I included 'sleep well' in my prayers tonight."

Either way I talked to her for a little bit
and then asked kory to take her back to bed.

When he opened our bedroom door he said that Lila

was crying. then I get up and say the monitor must be off

because I can't hear her.
Kory walks over to check the monitor and finds this.

We had the alarm clock, heater, and the monitor into

this extention cord. It was so hot to the touch that it

burned me when I tried to unplug the heater.

The heater and the clock were both still running
thats why we didn't know it was having problems.

The scary thing is that within an hour it would have

caught fire and it was sitting less
than 2 feet from Addy's bed. If it had caught fire

it's likely that her bed could have been on fire before

we woke up. We are so blessed for a Heavenly Father

who knows better
than I do. I am so grateful!

Introducing.......

Adeline Jean Peine joined our family on Feb 27th 2011 at

10:48 am. She was 7lbs 6 oz and 20 1/2 inches long. On Saturday

night around 11 pm I sarted having contractions about every 5 minutes.

I waited up until 1 am waitng to see if they would get closer but they

didn't so I went to sleep. I woke up at 3:30 having them every 3 minutes

and I was in alot of pain. So we called kory's parents and went to the

hospital. Once we got there and they got us settled in a room. We waited

until about 7:30 and then I got my epidural. After I got that my blood

pressure kept dropping and I felt a little sick for about 15 minutes. But

once they got my blood pressure back up I felt so much better.

We sarted making bets about when I would have her. My mom guessed

12ish Rachel said 2 and kory said 1. I said 10:52 am. At 10 am the doctor

came in at 10 am and broke my water. At 10:30 I called her back in and

told her I was feeling alot of pressure. They started bringing all the stuff in

and at 10:45 I sarted pushing. I pushed thru the first contraction.

The doctor and nurses "push, push, push" "ok" "when the

next contraction starts push again"

Me "I don't want to "

Doctor "too bad, You still have to push her past your pelvic bone."

Rachel ' You better hurry if you want to have her at 10:52"

Then My next contraction started and I pushed her out on the

first try. Less than 3 minutes of pushing andI didn't even tear this time.

This was by far my best labor nad Addy is such a good baby. She got up

2 times a night for the first week and for the last 2 nights she has slept

7 hours straight! She is a really good baby during the day. She wakes up

to eat and eats really good. Then she lays right down and goes to sleep.

She hardly cries at all.

Penny and Lila are really good with her. Penny is always trying to

take care of "her" baby and she insists on calling her "Adeline".

Lila really likes to touch her but is still learning about the 'soft'

touch. I'm just so glad that they are all finally here!

My little girls are getting so big. Penny is losing her

baby face and Lila is saying all sorts of words.

This week Lila got a double ear infection. I felt so bad

for her because she had it for a few days before I realized

and I thought she was just being a grouch.

I think both the girls can tell that things are going

to be changing soon because they have become very

clingy in the last few days. I just hope they get all the

clinginess out before the baby gets here.

Reality....

I just want to take a minute to share the reality of my life.

I love my daughters! Some days they drive me totally crazy

and I realize that I spend a lot of time complaining about

how hard it is to be a stay at home mom. But I would NEVER

for the world give up the chance that I have to see my daughters

every development and every change that takes place. I am

constantly reminded of how amazing my kids are. For every

time I say "you're driving me crazy!" I hear 3 "I love you mommy"

every time I see Lila run to me or say a new word my whole world

stops. Penny was up super late tonight and I could hardly bare

to put her to bed because tomorrow she will be a day older. In fact

I can hear her sneaking around outside my room right now and I

am just going to let her.

My grandpa Hanchett is very sick and in the hospital. I'm not sure if

he is going to make it through the next few weeks. It has just made me

realize once again how precious time with my family is.

I need to love more and worry about myself less. I need to put

others first and if that means that on occasion I let my 3 year

old stay up until 11:30 pm then so be it. These are the moments

that we should live for. I love my family and my life! That's all there

is to it and I hold nothing dearer except the Gospel of Christ which

without I wouldn't have the wonderful family that I do. That's all

there is to say about it.

These pictures are of Penny with my dad's dog, Jazz. I

just love it cause it reminds me of me when I was her

age (in the wheelbarrow) with our dog rusty.

This week has been long. I feel really tired and stressed

out. I just feel really unprepared for this baby. I feel like

Penny and Lila aren't ready and that all though I am very

excited I'm not sure I can handle 3 kids under 4 and still

raise them the way that I want to. Last Sunday we gave our

goats away in order to simplify our lives some. Then after

so hard thinking I decided that we needed to find a better

home for Hank, our 1 year old Lab. He was a very good

dog but I know that he needed more attention then I was

going to be able to give. After searching for a couple days and

meeting a few people we did find him a good home with a guy

who is going to train him to be a hunting dog. I felt really bad

but at the same time I know it was the best choice for him and

us. Penny has actually been playing in the backyard since he

left. Then on Sunday a family in our ward called us and asked

if we would be willing to take their donkey. He is a mini jack.

We talked about it a bit and decided that we would take him.

He's gelded so he should be pretty gentle. We went and got him

yesterday and so far is working out well.

Today the girls started Swimming lessons. It was a work out! I

got them them up and dressed and down to Farmington and then

I had to undress them and redress them in their swimming suits

and me in mine since Lila's is a 'mommy and me' class. Then

I had to do the class. Penny ignored her teacher for most of the

class and just ran around in the kiddie pool. Lila had a death

grip on me for most of our class. When the class was over

Penny had a total meltdown about leaving the pool. So then I

had to drag Penny to the dressing room, shower us all, dress

us all and keep the girls from running around the dressing room.

Then we went to get Katie from Rachel's work and we ALL went

grocery shopping. What a day. For the rest of the day Penny had

a meltdown about every hour. I am losing my mind..... On Wednesday

I will try to get pictures of the girls at their lessons.

I'm not normally someone that is big on "new year" resolutions but

I have been inspired this year by a lot of people my mom, my sister,

my husband, Aubrey, and others. I am going to publicly set goals

in a hope that it will help me stick to them.

My parents paid for me to get a personalized meal plan that

I will start after I have the baby. So my goals are.....

1. Lose 50 lbs

2. Maintain a healthier life style

3. Potty train Penny

4. Teach Lila baby sign

5. Work with our dogs on their manners

6. Learn Spanish ( to some degree)

7. Improve scripture study

8. Hold FHE EVERY Monday

9. Finish Personal Progress

10. Do my best to improve attitude about myself and others

I think 10 is more than enough goals for one year. We'll

see how I do.

in fact Christmas Eve Penny was crying and wouldn't

sleep because she was afraid of Santa coming to her house.
We still had a really good Christmas. The Balzens were here

for that week and kory took most of the week off so it was

really nice. This was the first year that penny has understood

what was going to happen so it was fun to see her face.

2 of the 4 fish that Santa got us died in a day so daddy had

to go buy some more. We didn't have any snow for Christmas

but we enjoyed it anyway!

So I thought I would be crafty and make some Christmas

Presents this year. I started making some dolls from

'A bit of Whimsy' which is where I got the pattern for

the little bald dolls. The others were inspired by the yellow

ballerina on top that my mom made over 30 years ago.

Also I crocheted the baby hat all by myself. It's my first time so

I felt pretty good about it. my next project is knitting

Christmas stockings. I'll post some pictures when I get

done.

Blowing Out Her Birthday Cake!

Penny turned 3 on October 30th 2010! I cannot believe how

big she is! She is such a big girl! She talks so good, she acts so

adult like. She can almost dress herself completely. Is is almost

completely potty trained too.She can countto 20.

She can sing her ABC's and name all of the upper case letters

and what sounds they make. She sings lots of songs and loves

nursey. Her teacher is Jill Gillen and Penny LOVES her.

Penny also loves the dogs and donkeys. She is so sweet with

Lila and is always saying sorry and giving 'loves". She is such a

blessing to our family.

This year for Halloween we went as Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach

and Toad. Rachel and the kids also came up and went to our

ward party with us. It was lots of fun!

Another GIRL!

I have to say that I wasn't totally excited about this news when we first

got it. I really thought the baby was a boy. I've dreamt about a little boy

and was convinced that this was him. But I am excited about my little girl.

I have hopes that she and her sisters will be best friends, and I have

everything that I need for her already. I love her so much. Right now I 23

weeks and she is so active. She starts kicking a lot when Penny and Lila

are on my lap and I know that she will have no problem getting her fair

share of attention. Kory is really excited about it. He really is a little girl's

daddy. But I feel sad for him all of our animals are girls too except the

2 dogs and the rooster. But Ralph is fixed and hank is soon to be. So

Kory and the rooster are the lone men.....

A few weeks ago my mom came over and spent the weekend

helping me organize the girl's rooms. We moved all the stuff

out of Lila's room and re-organized the rooms. We moved the

girls into a room together and it has worked out a lot better.

Weekend In Albuquerque

We went to Albuquerque last weekend. We went for the

specific reason of letting Wayne and Kory Play this game.

You could play it for days. The boys spent at least 12 hours

playing. They finally called it at 3am Sunday morning. It

was a tie. They did take a break for the priesthood session

of conference. In order to let them play in peace Yeni and

I took the little girls (except Lila) to the zoo. The girls had fun.

Wes also came over and played the game with Wayne and

Kory and Katryna also came for lunch and stayed for most

of the evening. The next day me, Kory and our girls went

to watch Conference with David and Norma. It was a nice

trip.

Girls Day Out!

Today Penny and I went on a girls day out with my mom,

Rachel, Katie, Brooke, Deborah, and Dana. My mom took

us all to the store and all the little girls got new dresses.

Penny was so funny. She kept saying "let's look at this

dress". She wanted to try everything on and thought that

everything was beautiful. These are pictures of the dress

she actually chose. She came out of the dressing room

and started spinning and saying "look I'm a princess."

After we got the dresses we went to a movie. It was the

first one Penny has ever been to in the therter. It didn't

turn out very well and half way thru the movie my mom

took her and Katie and left. They went grocery shopping

and penny loved it. Needless to say when they got done

we were all ready to go home. But I'm glad we went and

I'm thankful for my mother taking us. It was really nice

and thoughtful of her.

La Plata Canyon

Early this week my dad had the day off and wanted to go for a

drive up La Plata Canyon. He came by and picked me and the girls

up. We went up and walked around for a while. The leaves were

just starting to change. It was pretty. Penny loved running around

and Lila seemed to enjoy it too. After that we went by the

llama farm in Breen. Penny really loved running around there too.

She really wanted to get close to the llamas but they weren't to

fond of her. By the time we got home it was lunch time and the girls

were cranky. But it was nice to go on the little trip and do something

a little different for the day.

Lila Turns One!

My sweet little Lila turned one last Sunday.
She is so big now. She's not walking yet but

I'm sure she will in the next month or so. She

is so funny, she dances all the time and wants to

do everything that penny is doing. She also

gives lots of kisses and likes to cuddle which is

never something that Penny did. I love it!

We had a little scare this weekend and we had to go into the ER.

While we were there we had a Ultrasound. The baby looked good

so we were sent home. It turns out I must have done something

that made the placenta tear away from the uterine wall a little

bit. I was told just to take it easy and everything so heal ok.

I will have another ultrasound on Sept 20th to make sure

that everything is ok.

After and during the rain yesterday there was a

double rainbow. It was so pretty and Penny was

so excited about it. I wanted to take Lila out and

take some more pictures of her but it was still

raining and I didn't want her to get cold. Maybe

Penny had fun at the fair this year. We were there

almost every day that week. in fact I went over

with out her on Wednesday to help Sharon with the

weight in . It sure was interesting. Penny was a little

afraid of the pigs and sheep for a while but she finally

got to like them by the end. Since the fair she has been

saying "mommy, what does a piggy say?" I say

"oink, oink" she says "nope, it says 'wee,wee'".

She was so disturbed by their squealing.

Kevin, Peyi and Missy were also here for about a

week. I was good to see them and meet Peyi, but

it was such a busy week. Lila liked the fair less than

Penny but she was stuck in the stroller the whole time.

We had a Really nice 4th of July. We went on the

3rd to watch the fireworks in Farmington.

It's what we do most years and I really enjoy

it. It's nice cause we get there really early

and have dinner, play games and just enjoy

each others company.

Then since we are at the stake center

we walk around a visit with people we

haven't seen a a while.

I was suprised at home much Lila liked

the fireworks. Penny liked them alot

more this year also.

Trek 2010

Last month was the quad stake trek for the youth aged 14-18.

It's a really awesome experience for them. This is a picture of

my ward's youth the morning they left. I had the chance to

drive them up and it was really fun! the youth are always so

funny. Then a day later some people from the stake went up

to be "Angels" for the trekkers. It was a good experience. The

youth had this really huge hill to pull the carts up and

only the girls were pulling. We got to help them get their carts

the rest of the way up the hill. The group of us that went were

Sharon, Sister Davies, Sister Rayburn, Lisa Pound, Rebecca

Gillen, Pres. Taylor, Julia Taylor, Mitchell Pound, Steven Gillen,

Sage Crawford and I. We had a lot of fun!

What A Week!

Rachel and Tony went to Las Vegas for the week And the kids

stayed with us. We had alot of fun. We went horse back riding,

Swam in the pond. The kids had friends over. We rode the

garden tractor. The kids went on a scavanger hunt with

Grandma Piggy. It was a little stressful cause I'm not

used to having so many kids in our house and Penny

has been sick most of the week. Lila has also been a little

sick and so that was hard. But I love the kids so a little

stress is worth it.

Family Camp Out

Over Memorial Day weekend we had a family camp out.

We camped out at the Church HARP, in Bloomfield. It's just

secluded enough to made you feel like your camping, but

close enough to town so you can still get the things you need.

Anyway, It was really nice. We had fun. We played games,

had a dance and did Karoke, paint balled, the kids played in

the water, I really enjoyed it.

I was at Lowe's the other night with Deborah.We saw

these very cute bags. The had all the different Sesame

Street characters on bags and seed packets. I couldn't resist

getting Penny and Abby Cadabby bag.(actually Deborah

got the bag for Penny and I got the seeds) The bag includes

2 shovels, a rake an Abby Cadabby Pumpkin seed packet,

Moss Pots, and instructions. It was so cute. We also got

Big Bird Sunflowers, Elmo Tomatoes, Bert and Ernie Bell

Peppers,and Cookie Monster Watermelon. So a few days ago

me and Penny planted one of each seed and we will plant

the rest of them out in the garden when in a week or two.

What can I say... I'm a sucker for Sesame Street.

Mother's Day!

The day before mother's day we spent most of the day helping
Deborah move into her new home. That night Kory and I
had a church dance in our ward so the girls stayed
the at my mom's house. Then my mom brought
them home after our church. The whole time we were at

church I kept thinking I forgot something. After that we

went to Kory's parents house for dinner. The Talley

and Harris Clanalso came over along with Kory's

grandparents.We all had lunch together, about an hour

into lunch, Penny started crying. She wouldn't open her

left eye. We thought maybe she had gotten something in

it so we tried to rinse it out a few times. She still kept crying.

I would rock her to sleep

and she would sleep for a while and then wake up and start

crying again. After 3 hours of this we took her into Urgent

Care. When we got there we had to hold her down so

the doctor could put some numbing drops in her eye.

It took me. Kory and another nurse to hold her for the

doctor. Then they put some dye into her eye and we could

see a big abrasion on her eye. Some how she had cut it.

She was alot better once the numbing drops kicked in. She

was smiling at and flirting with the doctor. The sad thing

is there isn't much they can do for the pain. She was

refusing to open her eyes for the rest of the night. She

rode all the way home with the blanket over her head. She

was awake but she had her eyes closed, since she doesn't

know how to open only one. The sad thing was watching

her eat dinner. She was like a blind child. She sat with her

eye's closed the whole time. She would use her hand to

feel around her plate, when she found what she wanted

she would pick it up and eat it. Also she would say

mommy and then hold her hand out until she found me.

It was so sad to watch her hurt so much but this morning

she is doing much better. The worst part is that we have to

apply an ointment to her eye every 4 hours for the next

10 days. The hardest part is that I can't do it by myself.

So I'm gonna have to enlist some help...... luckily if we do

it then her eye should heal just fine.

A couple of weeks ago Kory and I celebrated our 5th anniversary.

We went to Albquerque for the weekend to spend some time together.

Rachel kept the girls for us. We had fun, we visited with my brother

Wayne and his family. We also visited with my cousin Wesley and his

wife Katryna. It was nice. On sunday we went to the Alb aquarium

together. I didn't have my camera but I took some pictures on my phone.

I just wanted to say how much I love Kory. He is the best thing that every

happened to me and my life would be horrible with out him.

Spring?!?!

Can I just start this by saying I'm done with the cold wind.....
I'm ready for "real" springtime weather, where it's warm

enough to be outside with a light jacket and you can plant a

garden and all that good stuff. Anyways. We've been working

on improvements around the house, We poured cement, we
are finishing the awning, and we planted some trees and
are going to put up a fence. I will post some pictures as soon
as it's all done.
Penny and Lila are getting big! Penny seems more grown up
every day. She is potty training this week and it's going well.
She has gone in the toilet more times than not. She is such
a little copy cat. She repeats everything that I say. "oh my
goodness" "oh crap" " what are you doing?" "what's your
problem?" and "nofing" are some of the things she uses
often. She talks so much and has close to 250 words in her
vocabulary. She amazes me more every day. Lila is growing
fast too. She is 'scooting' all over the place on her belly by
kicking her legs. She rolls non-stop too. she has started saying
"dada" and she razzes a lot. She just loves Penny and will just
laughs and laughs at her as long as Penny will talk to her.

Yesterday was our 5 year anniversary. We didn't celebrate too
much. We just went out to see a movie. But this weekend we are
going to go to Albuquerque and spend a day or two. That will be
nice. I just wanted to say how much I love Kory and what a

great husband he is. He would literally do anything for me

and I would not be where I am today with out him. He is the love

of my life.

Our Easter weekend was so much fun! Kory's sister Missy

and her family came to visit for the weekend. We had a lot

of fun with them. We played the Wii, the kids played outside

and did farm work. The boys burned weeds, afterwards

Penny walked up and grabbed the end of the burner and

got a bluster on her finger. Ouch! We got to hunt eggs and

watch conference on Sunday. It was fun. This was the first

year that Penny understood what she was suppose to do

and she had lots of fun hunting eggs. With some help from

my mom I made Easter dresses for Penny, Lila and Kenna.

They looked adorable. we tried to get a picture of them

all together but It didn't really work.... they were not

cooperating. I just can't believe how big Lila has gotten.

She will be 7 months next week. She is such a little blessing.

I enjoy nearly every minute of her!

Well we spent most of this weekend with the Johnsons.

David and Stephanie came down from Idaho to Bless their

newest addition Ester. It was so nice to see all of them. Dani

and Hunter were also there and Dani looks so cute cause

she's starting to show.... Also We got to see Kyle and his

new wife, Chelsey. It was so nice to see them. What was really

nice was to just enjoy some time with all of us together.

It really made me miss them all so much. All of our kids

playing together and after all this time we can still

talk like we just saw each other yesterday. After the

blessing on Sunday a friend of ours said to come over and

get a puppy... so we did. We named him Hank. He's very

cute and really good for a Lab puppy. So that leaves the

total at 2 kids, 3 dogs, 3 goats, 6 chickens and a mini donkey.

And we soon plan to add another donkey and some more

chickens... We must be glutton for punishment.

Well really not alot has happened since my last update.

We got a new dog, her name is Daisy. Penny loves her and

I really enjoy her. 7 of our chickens disappeared last night.

We found 2 of the bodies, but the rest of just disappeared into

thin air. Penny and Lila are both doing really well. Lila will be

6 months on the 12th. I can't believe how much she has grown.

She rolls over both ways, trys to sit on her own, and holds

her own bottle when I will let her.

Penny is growing so much too. She can count to 10 and

she knows her shapes too. (circle, square, oval, rectangle, star

and kite aka diamond) Anyway everthing else is good. Me and

Kory are both doing well. I can't

wait for the snow to finally melt. We still have huges

mounds that are close to 3 feet tall. I was walking out on one

to get Penny the other day and I kept falling thru, now I

have scratches all the way up my calves

and a bruise the size of my fist on one leg. Yeah, it hurts.

most of the day there. Penny had lots of fun. This is the first time

she has understood that opening presents was fun. Then we went

Penny is becoming such a little person. One of her favorite things

to do lately is wash the dishes. You may think that she's just

mimicking me but I can count on one hand the amount of times

she has seen me wash dishes by hand in the last year. I use the

dish washer which she does enjoy loading but that's not the point.

Anyways, She enjoys helping me clean the bathrooms and the

kitchen. She is less than helpful when I'm folding laundry but does

like to help me load the washing machine and helping me get the

clothes out of the dryer. It just never fails to amaze me what she

has picked up. Also She LOVES cleaning the table and chairs with

shaving cream..... what kid wouldn't? Enjoy-Heather

Hospital Visit

Yes, I did take the time to snap a few pictures on my phone

while my daughter was in the hospital. What can I say,

I want to document it all!

Yesterday Lila started coughing and was having some problems
breathing. I waited for a few hours to see if it would get
better. Around 6pm I called the nurses hot line and they told
me that I needed to take her into the E.R. So I went down
thinking that it was really going to be nothing. So I got
there and they took her straight in. They hooked her up to
oxygen, gave her a steroid shot and some nebulizer treatments.
Then they tired to give her an I.V. That was the most horrible
thing that I've ever had to watch and participate in. They
poked her 4 different times and still never got a vein. I
felt so bad cause she was so tired, she was crying and then
she would fall asleep as soon as they would pull the needle
out. Today her little hands and feet are covered in bruises.
They watched her for a little while and decided that they
needed to admit her. It took a long time to get her into
her room. We got her in the room around 1 am. Luckily my
dad was there to hang out wit me until I got her into
a room. I got a whole 2 hours of sleep and I am so tired.
But I glad she's home. We just have to watch her for the
next few days.

Last night both of my girls moved up a bed. Lila moved

from the bassinet to the crib and Penny moved from the

crib to her toddler bed. I was expecting lots of problems

and lots of crying. Amazingly I had neither. The only

hiccup in the evening was that Penny had a poo diaper

and got into it and put it on the wall and bed about 10

minutes after I laid her down. Once we cleaned that up

she went right to sleep. I think that both of them slept

better than me because I was so nervous about it.

Now, I would like to say how thankful I am for my

daughters. They are both such good girls. I'm so

surprised how much Lila has already changed and

what a wonderful baby she is. I am so glad that

Penny is such a good girl too. She does cause some

mayhem occasionally, but nothing that isn't to be

expected for a 2 year old. What i love most is how

much she already loves her sister. I was really

expecting some sibling rivalry but there hasn't

been a even a hint of it. Penny loves Lila so much.

she wants to cuddle and hold her and give her

kisses and I am so glad! I hope they continue to

get along like this for the rest of their lives!

I don't know what i would do without them!

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving, My family had dinner the weekend before.

We also had Dana's baptism and a little party for Brooke's

Birthday. It was a lot of fun.

Then On Thanksgiving day we went with Kory's parents

over to Ignacio to spend some time with his aunt, uncle

and cousins who live there. It was nice to see them all.

They have kids close to Penny's age so she has fun while

we are there.

We have some new additions to our "Family".

Last week we got some pigmy goats. Their

names are "Margarette" and "Elise"... They came

with those names so hopefully no one is offended.

Also we have a full sized goal named "Chancho".

We added them to our 14 hens and 1 rooster.

Also "Minnie" the miniture donkey and as always,

Ralph, our loveable mutt. We know that mostly

they are useless but Penny loves them and it

teaches her so much! As my grandpa once said..

"I wasn't raising livestock, I was raising kids",

because it less about what they can do and more

about what they teach. Love you all!

So Rachel threw a New Moon Party the night of the Midnight

showing! The party was so much fun! Rachel went all out on

decorations. We even got a cardboard Edward and took

pictures with him! Rachel and I also got shirts made. Mine

said "Emmett Dazzles Me!" and Rachel's said "Edward &

Jacob, Why Choose?". It was so fun! We played Twilight

saga Jeopardy. And I guess I made the questions too hard

but we sure did learn alot. Anyways then some of us went

to see the midnight showing and that was really fun too.

It makes me feel young to stay out late with my friends.

I liked this movie alot better than Twilight. I'm not sure

why but maybe I had lower expectations... But it was

still fun!

So I got the 'People' Magazine 'New Moon' edition the other

day and the whole time I was looking at it Penny was trying

to take it from me. A few hours later I looked over and

she had gotten it and was sitting on the recliner looking

at it. It was so funny. She's a twilight fan already!

Also Delilah is getting so big. I can't believe how much

she's grown already. She has this goofy little smile

that I'm always trying to catch a picture of, I finally

got one but it's a little blurry. Hope you enjoyed them!

Halloween Weekend

For Halloween we were a family of Chickens, Kory was

a rooster, I was a hen, Penny was a chick and Lila was an

egg. It was funny I'd tell Penny "what does mommy say?"

and she'd say "bock bock". We won our wards costume contest,

which made me feel weird. Anyways then on Sunday Penny

was sick, and we had to bring her home early from church.

We also had to give her a few baths so her hair was Super

curly..... I love it!

Penny got a toddler bed and bedding from my parents.

We had Penny's birthday party the other day. We just had a small

family get together. It was nice, she had fun even though she hasn't

figured outhow birthday's work yet. I'm sure by next year she will.

I just want to take a minute to say how grateful I am to have my

family! Penny is the sweetest little girl. I'm so blessed that she was

sent to me. I'm surprised everyday at how big she is getting both

physically and emotionally. She is trying to say prayer now and is

so helpful with Delilah. She gives her the pacifier and throws away

dirty diapers. She goes to the fridge and gets the milk so I can fill

her cup and she is talking so much! I just love how much fun she is!

So while we were in AZ we went to the zoo with my family.

The kids had fun and Penny loved looking at the animals.

It was really hot but It was nice to see the kids so excited

but we were all so tired when we got back to the hotel.

HFK 2009 Family Reunion

So this last weekend we went to AZ for the HFK family reunion.

This is my mother's side of the family and we had the 30th reunion

in a row. I love going and getting to see all my family! I love my

cousins and I feel so grateful that we are all so close and that

we can enjoy each others company so much!

Also I love my grandparents! This year

they decided that we were going to stop having them every year.

I'm sad, I really enjoy the time we spend together. I hope that we

can all keep in touch and remain close! I love them all!

Penny is such a daddy's girl! Kory was changing the oil on

one of the cars the other day and Penny went out and was

"helping" him. We want to get her some coveralls so she

can work with daddy all the time.

Delilah's Blessing

We Blessed Delilah this past sunday but the day was

so hectic that I didn't get a chance to take pictures of

her. I redressed her yesterday and took a few.

Of course I think she's beautiful!

I love her blessing dress. My mom made it during

the week that she stayed here with us. She was

so helpful. I am so grateful that my mom is willing

to take time off of work and from her life to come

and stay with me. She even cooked meals and left

them in the fridge for this week. What a great mom

I have. I Love you mom!

Busy Weekend!

We had such a busy weekend! First Saturday was

Kory's birthday... He turned 26! His parents came over early

that morning to give him his present which was kind of

for all of us. They got us 400 Sq Feet of

sod for our backyard! It looks so nice!

Then we went down to Farmington for a big family picnic before

my nephew's, Jacob, baptism. The baptism was so nice.

The talks were so nice and everything went really well.

It was really nice to see everyone.

Then we went to my sisters to play games with all the adults.

On Sunday all of our family came to our ward at 9am to see

Delilah get blessed. We had so many people participate in the

blessing. My mom said she's never seen such a big blessing

circle. I am so proud of my family and extended family that

we have so many worthy priesthood holders who are willing

to travel to participate in a blessing. I am so blessed and I know

that Delilah will have everything that Kory blessed her with.

Then we drove to my parents ward to hear Daniel give his

'homecoming' talk. He was such a good missionary. I am so

proud of him. Anyway, It was a busy weekend but it is

so nice to have our families be so supportive and thoughtful.

Delilah Lee Peine was born on 09/12/09 at 6:31 pm.

She was 8 lbs and 6 oz and 21 1/4 inches long.

I got induced Saturday morning at 9am because

she was a few day over due. The labor was ok but

I was unable to get the epidual like I wanted becuase

I went too fast after they broke my water. But we

sure are glad that she's finally here. Penny loves her

so much. She is very careful with her and wants to

cuddle her all the time. Anyways, Love you all!

Daniel Comes Home!

Daniel is home! I am so excited that daniel has returned from

his mission. On Wednesday 9-9-09 Daniel flew into the Alb

sunport at about 9:30 pm.It was so much fun to see him

again. We got to spend most of the next day

together..... we went shopping along with Rachel and it was so

neat to see him in Missionary mode, talking with

everyone and making friends.

I am so proud of him and so excited for him to get

going with his life!

We sure did miss him while he was gone!

At about 5 am on Monday morning Penny woke up. She doesn't

normally get up until 8ish. So I asked Kory to take her a sippy

and hopefully she'd fall back asleep. He did and around 8:30 I

got up and went in to check on her. This is what I found......

At some point between 5 and 8 she stripped all of her

clothes off and took of her diaper and went back to

sleep. I tried to wake her up after taking these pictures

but she wouldn't get up so I let her sleep naked for

another 30 minutes or so. But I have to say she was in

a VERY good mood when she woke up... She must have

known that I was going to have to clean it all....

Well first I want to say how much I truely do enjoy having

my niece stay with us 2 nights a week. For one it makes me

feel good to help my sister out and second it's just nice to have

a friend for Penny and I just love Katie.

On Monday when I was getting katie ready for bed she

asked if "Daniel" could sleep with her. It was really cute.

She put him in bed and covered him up. Then he watched

"Lady and the Tramp" with her. She even gave him

goodnight kisses. It was adorable. On Tuesday after we

went to open the chicken coop the girls came inside and

were relaxing in the air conditioned house. Penny normally

lounges on her giraffe. Well Katelyn got there first. They

kept stealing it back and forth from eachother until finally

Penny just went over and sat on Katies lap. it was so funny

cause at first katelyn told on her. Then I said thank you to

katelyn for letting Penny sit on her lap. Her whole out look

changed.... she patted Penny on the back and started singing

to her. So... next time I tell someone that they are driving

me crazy just remind me of how cute they can be!

So last friday My sister along with Amber Swenk and Kassie Rogers

came up to my house and had a girls night. We ate snacks, talked and

did facials and pedicures. It was so much fun! Anyway, the pictures

are a little funny but I'm really grateful to have friends and a sister

that would are willing to come up and spend time with me!

On Monday Penny woke up from her nap a little crabby.

I got her her sippy and she climbed up on the couch and

pulled 2 blankets up over her head. She laid with just her

hair showing for about 5 minutes and then she would

progressively show a little more and then a little more.

It took a total of 20 minutes to get from the first picture

to the last one. It was just kind of funny. She has a

personality all of her own now..... Enjoy!

37.5 weeks.... getting closer!

So last weekend we went down to Albuquerque to see my

cousin Wesley get married to his new wife Katryna. It was lots of

fun except that Pennywas a holy terror most of the time.

We stayed at a hotel and Penny was up until 2:30 am.

I was so exasted. She screamed bloody murder everytime

we tried to lay her down and I didn't want to let her scream

because I knew the people around us could her her scream.

Plus 2 of my nieces were also sleeping in our room and I didn't

want to wake them. The thing that probley saved Penny's life

was that at about 1:30am she started giving me and Kory

kisses..... it's one of those things you can't help but laugh at

and love. The next day Penny was a total grouch but Kory

and I went to Wesley's sealing and then to the reception.

We didn't stay very long cause we had to drive home that

night. Penny stayed awake almost the whole way home of

course. It's takenher a few days to get back on her schedule.

The other problem wasthat she cut a tooth this weekend and

I'm sure that added to her crankiness. I'm just glad it's over

but Congrats to Wesley and Katryna!

We went to the La Plata County Fair and Penny loved it.
She had such a good time. She thought the animals where

great and she even got to run around with some people

from our ward which was a nice break for me. Anyway

Walking Disaster

Here is Penny, In the first picture I edited out her newest

wound by her eye. This was less than an hour after it

happened it looks much worse today.

So Penny is my little walking Disaster. She has not gone

a day within the last week without getting a new bump,

bruise or scratch. I feel so bad for her but I guess eventually

she'll learn to be a little more careful. Here are her newest

battle wounds.
